Deadly Air – Declared in Mpumalanga

Deadly Air declared in Mpumalanga province earlier this year.

The South African court issued the judgment due to the level of air pollution exceeding the residents right to an environment that is not harmful to their well-being, a constitutional right.

The main culprits are linked to the regions coal-fired power plants and their toxic emissions, the limits of which had not been appropriately enforced by the provinces very own plan to improve air quality for the past 10 years.
