Environmental Auditing

Enviromin Projects is able to undertake any environmental audit in line with Authorisations issued in line with the following legislation:

  • Environmental Authorisation Audits in terms of the the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Regulations, 2014, National Environmental Management Act (NEMA), No. 107 of 1998
  • Waste Management Licence Audits (WMLA) in terms of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act (NEM:WA), No. 59 of 2008
  • Water Use Licence Audits (WULA) in terms of the National Water Act (NWA), No. 36 of 1998
  • Environmental Performance Assessment (EPA) previously required in terms of the Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA), No. 28 of 2002 and now in terms of the NEMA and EIA Regulations.

Due Diligence: Environmental Due Diligence can be conducted for any reason usually prior to transfer or purchase of land or mining rights to ascertain the level of risk related to environmental degradation, contaminated land, or compliance with mining rights and associated liability. The audits will involve the evaluation of environmental conditions and risk associated with a property.

Legal Compliance Audits: Identification of legal non-compliances and areas of high risk to avoid legal liability. Theses are often required by environmental permits and authorisations and in ISO and OHSAS. Although these are usually conducted by Environmental Legal Auditors, Enviromin Projects is able to provide an evaluation of compliance against all national, provincial and local HSE legislation applicable to the client’s activities as an effective tool to avoid legal liability minimising costs prior to signing off by external legal representatives.
